Last week, the Democrats spend much of their convention making the case that Mitt Romney simply “doesn’t get it.” That is, that he’s so filthy rich that he can’t possibly understand the plight of the average citizen, and thus cannot effectively be a public servant.
Some of the loudest voices touting this claim these days (and mind you- this is not NEARLY an exhaustive list) must therefore be living with average salaries, in median homes and driving so-so cars.
At least you’d think so.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D) is worth a whopping 10 million dollars.
Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Shultz, (D) and chairwoman of the DNC, owns a million dollar home, and cars topping $100,000.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, (D) was worth (as of this past year) 35.2 million dollars.
Vice President Joe Biden made the paltry sum of just $400,000 this past year ALONE. (Must be rough)
And last, but not least:
President Barack Obama’s net worth: 11.8 million dollars.
Personally, I don’t care how rich someone gets. In my estimation, the richer someone is, the more they stimulate the economy. The more they stimulate the economy, the more of us have jobs.
Where I do feel the need to drag out the Pepto-Bismol, however, is this mind-numbing, non-stop double-speak.
Hypocrites.
Thank you for the info Mary! Very interesting!
