If you’ve read my work for any length of time, you know by now how much I love movies (see here, here and here), and how much they tend to make their way into my illustrations.
So, unsurprisingly, I want you to think about another scene from yet another movie.
It’s “Hook,” where the late, great Robin Williams plays Peter Banning, a workaholic businessman who discovers that he’s actually Peter Pan all grown up.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump during a campaign rally at the American Airlines Center on September 14, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. More than 20,000 tickets have been distributed for the event.

He makes it back to Neverland—except the Lost Boys have since gotten a new leader: the much younger, stronger, decidedly fiercer Rufio.
“Rufio, Rufio, RU-FI-OOOOOOO!” the Lost Boys cheer as Rufio soars down to challenge the old Pan.
“Oh that is SO dangerous,” says Banning as Rufio pulls a couple of acrobatic tricks on the way down. “That’s ENOUGH!” Banning shouts. Rufio lands and pulls out his sword. “Ok mister, alright, show’s over, now you PUT that thing away, now put it down before you poke somebody’s eye out!” says Banning.
They all laugh.
Banning continues: “You’re not even old enough to shave! What are you doing flying around… this is an insurance nightmare! What is this, some kind of Lord of the Flies preschool? Where are your parents? Who’s in charge here?”
The laughing stops and they all point instantly to Rufio.
Before long, the boys are running back and forth in a hilarious huddle between sides, as Tinker Bell and Rufio each try to convince them who they’re supposed to follow.
It’s that back-and-forth scene in I’ve had running through my head lately.
Why?

This election seems to have evolved into something other than electing a President, but rather, a bi-partisan, non-partisan, anti-partisan wake up call for America. It seems that our Government has been hi-jacked by imposters of those who purport to stand for Freedom and Democracy. Instead, it has been taken, not by force, but by apathy and denial, by those who would remove those very precious things from us. If anything, this election is highlighting for constituents across the board, the very real and present dangers of a delegate system…super delegates – a system originally intended to streamline the process of insuring the will of the people, but now has been cleverly reconfigured and abused to pervert the will of the people. The question remains: What will we do with this new realization? We shall see.
Our “Stories”, our “movies” TELL us THE “Story” over and over again. “Do we have EYES to SEE and EARS to HEAR?”, the Great Shepherd asks, yet tells us. The spiritual forces and powers that be WANT us to “get it”; they want us to KNOW “The” STORY, but we REJECT the base KNOWLEDGE continually, just as the Great One tells us we do in Hosea 4:6: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge,…[and] you have forgotten the law of your God…”
Just as ABC’s Sunday Night Hit, “ONCE UPON A TIME”, all the characters are on stage, but they know not who they are for they “sleep” under a curse brought on by evil. In reality, that “evil” is “sin”, which IS the transgression of the Law, defined in 1 John 3:4. A curse of sleep, of blindness due to REJECTING THE INSTRUCTION/LAW which is KNOWLEDGE in it’s base form. Natural Law is cause and effect. Because we have REJECTED the KNOWLEDGE that is before us continually, we have become “LOST BOYS”.
